Medium: Oil Pastels
Raised on Florida’s east central coast, I have used my travels throughout the world as a source of inspiration in my art. I consider my work emotional prints of my dreams and life experiences.
My oil pastel artwork is comprised of building thick layers of color on handmade cotton paper. After stacking or blending the colors, I scratch out layers to expose the underlying colors. I add designs, highlights and words to achieve the desired image. I finish the work by spraying a fixative to the surface of the work. These are one of kind pieces done exclusively by me.
Medium: 2d Mixed Media
My mixed media artwork is comprised of combining the use of colored pencil and graphite with acrylic paint. I start my process by adhering assorted materials on birch plywood with acrylic mediums and modeling paste. This gives me a ground of textures and design elements to put my images on. I want to achieve an image that will expose some of the entire steps involved. These are one of kind pieces done exclusively by me.
Medium: Printmaking
My printmaking artwork is comprised of combining the printing of colograph and acrylic plates. I will print these in various layers and on occasion add oil pastels. My colograph plates are made by adhering assorted materials to a birch plywood matrix with acrylic mediums and modeling paste. I want to achieve an image that will expose some of the entire steps involved. These are one of kind pieces done exclusively by me.
Medium: Digital Art
My digital artwork is comprised of building layers of color and images using Adobe Photoshop. I incorporate the use of a scanner and a Wacom drawing pad. I add designs, highlights and words to achieve the desired image. I print these images in an edition on archival paper with archival ink. All work is done exclusively by me.
